THE FORE PAWS GOLF CLASSIC BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
Make a meaningful impact by supporting the Humane Society of Sumter County. The Humane Society is hosting the Fore Paws Golf Classic at Harbor Hills Country Club on October 24. This nonprofit has cared for injured, abused, homeless, and unwanted animals since 1982. Through classroom programs, seminars, and targeted training, Sumter Humane educates the next generation to care for those who cannot speak for themselves.
In 2001, the Society bought five acres of land in Lake Panasoffkee for a future shelter. Construction included on-site buildings and facility upgrades, such as a “catty shack” for adoptable cats, a House of Paws dog housing area, an agility course, and five play yards. In its ongoing efforts, Sumter Humane, a no-kill shelter, relies entirely on donations from individuals, businesses, and foundations.
Please support our mission at the Fore Paws Golf Classic on October 24. Registration opens at 8 a.m., with a full participant long drive contest and gallery starting at 9 a.m. The shotgun start begins at 10 a.m. There will be contests for closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, and hole-in-one. Our exciting event features mulligans, raffle tickets, food and drink tents, and a Bloody Mary bar. Hole sponsors and pin flag sponsors are available. Contact Cindi Mainer at 352-355-8740 to help.
Join us for dinner, a live and silent auction, and the awards ceremony. The cost is $125 per player, which includes golf and dinner. Guests can purchase dinner-only tickets for $40. Register online at: go.yhsspca.org/ForePaws or contact Cindi. Snoopy and I will see you there!
