MEMORIAL DAY AT HARBOR HILLS BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
Today, we honor U.S. military personnel who died in service to our country. The Harbor Hills Country Club shows profound respect with six new flags proudly waving near the 16th green. These flags represent each branch of the U.S. Armed Forces: the Air Force, Army, Marines, Navy, Coast Guard, and the newly formed Space Force. They symbolize the contributions and sacrifices of our servicemen and women. A bench and an inscribed memorial stone rest among colorful flowers, creating a perfect spot to honor those who perished to preserve our freedom.
In Harbor Hills, we hold our veterans in the highest regard. To honor their service, our community group, Friends of the Veterans’ Park, offers a unique opportunity. We are selling bricks engraved with your veteran’s name to surround the memorial. The proceeds from these sales go toward maintaining the park, which is funded by donations from Harbor Hills and Grove residents. To purchase an engraved brick, email Shirle Mabie at shirlemabie@gmail.com or call Shirle at 561-351-0699.
