CELEBRATE ITALY WITH A NIGHT AT THE SANDS BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

“Mangia bene, Ridi spesso e Ama molto.” Eat well, laugh often, love much! This charming expression of joy is at the heart of the Harbor Hills Italian-American Club. The club celebrates Italian heritage and culture. It hosts a fun event every other month, with a season-ending picnic in May. Activities include dining at Italian restaurants, day trips, and attending concerts and dinner theatre. The annual Italian Open Golf Tournament, one of the club’s highlights, will be held on April 16, 2025.

All residents of Italian heritage in Harbor Hills are encouraged to join the club. New members are especially welcome. Dues are $10 per person annually. Non-Italian spouses or partners are always included. Club reporter Ted Drzewiecki does a great job keeping members informed in our quarterly newsletter.

Club President Bill Taranelli and Vice President Pete Petillo invite all residents and the public to the club’s biggest event of the year—a casino night and gala dinner-dance on Friday, November 7. Guests will be transported to “A Night At The Sands.” The semi-formal evening will also mark the club's 15th anniversary. Susie Costa will provide the entertainment. Among her many musical talents, Susie specializes in Italian tunes you will surely recognize from childhood, if you were lucky enough to be Italian!

Event organizer Shirle Mabie and her team have selected a variety of authentic dishes from different regions of Italy for the evening. This spectacular event is expected to sell out quickly. For more information about the gala, contact Shirle Mabie at shirlemabie@gmail.com.
