CELEBRATE INDEPENDENCE DAY AT HARBOR HILLS BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
Baseball, hot dogs, and apple pie. Friday is July 4! We are incredibly blessed to be Americans. This holiday is a special day of unity and celebration that transcends the things that divide us.
The American spirit has its roots in the hearts of courageous pilgrims who came to America seeking independence from Britain. Although there are many interpretations of these events, one thing is certain: the voyage was indeed a response to the religious persecution that the pilgrims and Puritans faced in England during the early 1600s.
Thus, the indomitable American spirit was born, emerging as a celebration of the freedom of religion, expression, and movement. On June 20, 1782, the bald eagle was chosen as our national symbol, a powerful reminder of our nation’s fierce independence and strength.
Harbor Hills will raise the flag to celebrate July 4 with an 8 a.m. golf scramble followed by a traditional all-American Independence Day cookout. Red, white, and blue-decorated golf carts will roll along our picturesque course on this significant day.
Are you a veteran living in Harbor Hills? Neighbor and friend Ted Drzewiecki, CPT (Ret.), US Army CE, has created a large photo montage (20” x 20”) of our resident veterans. This exciting project has garnered more than eighty images to date. If you are a veteran, Ted wants to include you! Contact Ted at ted.drzewiecki@gmail.com.
Tonight, club members will enjoy a Meet A Neighbor, Bring A Neighbor social event featuring happy hour drink specials, live entertainment, and a gourmet burger buffet. Reservations are required by 1 P.M.
