JOIN, SUPPORT, AND SPONSOR THE FUTURE OF JUNIOR GOLF
Junior golf programs are more than just tournaments; they are essential pathways for young athletes who love the game. Besides developing new skills, golf teaches important life lessons such as respect, honesty, and integrity, shaping character both on and off the course.
Keith and Fiona McColl, who spent their careers at golf’s birthplace in St. Andrews, Scotland, brought their passion to Florida in 2018. By 2019, they launched the Claret Junior Tour from their home base in The Villages. Their goal is clear: nurture junior golfers through year-round play in a competitive yet supportive environment, while keeping entry fees affordable so more families can participate.
In 2025, the Claret Junior Tour hosted 46 tournament days across 14 top venues, welcomed over 350 boys and girls aged 10–18, and awarded medals to more than fifty players. On December 27th, Harbor Hills Country Club proudly hosted the season finale with a special FUNraiser event, where juniors and adults teamed up for an 18-hole scramble. Special thanks to Harbor Hills Golf Professional Tom Leimberger and Pro Shop manager Krista Fabian for making the event outstanding. Congratulations to Carlie Stewart (Mount Dora) and Lincoln Nascimento (Apopka), both outstanding players who were chosen as the 2025 Players of the Year.
What sets the Claret Junior Tour apart is its dedication to accessibility. It is the only junior tour in Florida offering playing scholarships—free play at every venue for an entire year to deserving young golfers. This unique program ensures that talent, not financial barriers, determines opportunity. Continued participation and sponsorship are vital to keep this tradition alive.
