From the AMP Tour to the U.S. Open — One Florida Course Saw It First

Back in January, when the AMP Tour rolled into Lady Lake at Harbor Hills country club for its 2026 season opener, most people in the field were just hoping to make a deep run in the bracket. Robbie Higgins was one of them a Korn Ferry Tour pro from Sarasota, navigated his way to the semifinals at the 2026 AMP Tour Season Opener resulting in a $2,000 prize for the weekends work.

Five months later, he's headed to Shinnecock Hills for the U.S. Open.

Higgins is a 2024 graduate of the University of North Florida, where he was one of the more decorated Ospreys in the program's recent history. He competed in all 14 tournaments during his final collegiate season, posted a sub-72 scoring average, and collected multiple ASUN Golfer of the Week honors across his career.

A current Korn Ferry Tour player. The official developmental circuit of the PGA Tour is where Higgins has been grinding since turning professional. Higgins has made 3 cuts in 2026 on the Korn Ferry Tour in 7 events started.

His U.S. Open run this spring was the kind of week that makes average golfers dream of. At local qualifying in Ormond Beach, he shot an 8-under 64 — the best round of the day at his qualifying site to earn honors and advance to the final stage. Then, on what the USGA calls Golf's Longest Day, he turned in a 36-hole performance that left no doubt. Fourteen birdies. An eagle. Eleven under par total, good enough for fourth place at his site and one of the coveted spots in the field at Shinnecock Hills. He finished alongside Chris Kirk, Jake Peacock, and Keith Mitchell who are PGA Tour veterans with major experience under the belt.

Wether its grinding in a 32 man match play event at Harbor Hills, or competing on one of the biggest stages in golf.

We don't know exactly how his week at Shinnecock will go. Nobody does. But we know a little piece of that journey ran right through Lady Lake. And we wish him the best of luck from the Harbor Hills Family!

The 2026 U.S. Open is held at Shinnecock Hills Golf Club in Southampton, New York.
