MISS LAKE COUNTY GOLF TOURNAMENT  BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

What do you get when you mix heart, hustle, and a whole lot of sparkle? Just ask Jackie Croft. She’s the driving force behind the Miss Lake County Florida pageant—a nonprofit that’s not about tiaras but about making a difference. “The most important benefit of the competition lies in community service, raising awareness, and inspiring others,” Jackie said.

Over the years, more than $40,000 in scholarships have been awarded through this program. Madison Rowland, the current Miss Lake County, Florida won the $2,000 college scholarship. Madison is a freshman at Lake Sumter State College, working toward a degree in elementary education. In her own words, she’s “passionate about making a difference in the lives of young students and excited to continue my journey both as a student and a titleholder.”

Madison and her court represent Lake County at charity events and community programs. Every effort is made to reach one hundred hours of community service, earn the Presidential Volunteer Service Award, and uphold the pageant’s legacy of selflessness and service.

On Saturday, July 26, Harbor Hills will host the Miss Lake County Scholarship Golf Tournament. All proceeds go toward college scholarships. Registration begins at 7 a.m., with a shotgun start at 8 a.m. The entry fee of $100 per golfer includes the tournament and lunch. Awards, prizes, chance drawings, and a 50-50 raffle are part of the fun.
