OUR SWINGIN’ 9’ERS BY NIKKI HOFFMAN

Our Swingin' 9’ers have been in full swing this season. This group of Harbor Hills women golfers, welcoming all skill levels, plays nine holes every Tuesday. Dues are $40 for the season, and full golf club membership is required.

The new executive board, which will take office on June 1, consists of President Denise Collier, Vice President Karen Mannix, Secretary Carol Langan, and Treasurer MJ Renz.

This year, a dual-level championship structure was created, awarding both a Yellow Tee Champion and a Combo Tee Champion. Congratulations to this season’s Yellow Flight low gross champion, Carol Langan, and low net champion, Karen Robbins. The champions for the Combo Flight are Low Gross winner Denise Collier and Low Net winner Diane Raymond. Our Swingin’ 9’ers group fosters lasting friendships and year-round enjoyment. This season’s events included monthly socials, a Sadie Hawkins Day celebration, and weekly competitive games. Look for the new plaque on the board near the Grill Room featuring our club winners. On a personal note, I am celebrating a special anniversary. On May 25, 2015, my first article as Harbor Hills community columnist was published in The Daily Sun. Many things have changed in the past ten years. However, bringing you the news of this distinctive community has remained a joy. Thanks to my kind and often opinionated readers, the Daily Sun editorial staff, and the developer of Harbor Hills, Michael Rich. Apart from the Great American Novel I have yet to pen, this has been a dream come true.
