HARBOR HILLS JUNIOR GOLF CAMP BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
Junior golf programs have been an essential pathway for young golfers who are passionate about the game. Familiar names like Scottie Scheffler, Jordan Spieth, Rose Zhang, and Nelly Korda rose through the ranks of junior golf. Harbor Hills Director of Golf Tom Leimberger promotes early exposure to the sport. “Start at a young age,” he explains, “to get the fundamentals right.”
Reagan Smith is doing just that. This Harbor Hills youngster, the son of Deron and Vicky Smith, was the top boys' medal winner on the Claret Jug Tour with six wins. In 2025, he advanced to the 13 to 15-year-old division and has already achieved four top-20 finishes.
Reagan’s consistently strong performance earned him a national ranking of 32 in the U.S. and 5 in Florida for the Class of 2031. His summer schedule is filled with invitations to compete in the Future Masters in Alabama, the Teen World Championship in Pinehurst, N.C., and the Notah Begay Canadian National Championship in Montreal. Good luck, Reagan! The Harbor Hills community is rooting for you!
Leimberger has crafted a comprehensive golf curriculum for this summer’s Junior Golf Camp, designed for youths ages 7 to 17. All skill levels are welcome. Instruction includes full swing and video analysis, short game techniques, and putting fundamentals. Drills and games add to the fun! The cost is $225 for the three-day session starting July 21.
Tom is extending a special invitation to Villagers, their children, and grandchildren to come out and play. For registration information, contact Tom at 352-753-7711 or email tleimberger@harborhills.com.
