HARBOR HILLS ROUND ROBIN TENNIS CHAMPIONSHIP BY NIKKI HOFFMAN
Teaching Pro Ron Eddy
Calling all racquet sports enthusiasts! The competitive spirit is alive and well on
the courts of Harbor Hills Country Club. As the premier tennis facility in the area,
the USTA league play, tournaments, and charity events are often held here. Short
court tennis and pickleball are played on a Har-Tru surface. This high-performance
clay material provides the most comfortable playing experience, especially for the
knees.
The Sixth Annual Tennis Doubles Championship, sponsored by the Harbor Hills
Racquet Association, is in progress. Round-robin matches take place in three
divisions: ladies’ doubles, men’s doubles, and mixed doubles. The top four teams
in each division played a sudden-death semi-final. The winners then play for the
championship in front of cheering fans. The trophy cup is presented after each
final match. Watch for news on this season’s champions in an upcoming column.
